Ginger Garlic Chicken Wings
Two medicinal foods to have on hand are fresh ginger and garlic. These are two flavorful root plants with a wide range of culinary uses. There are so many flavours that you can add to this chicken dish but nothing beats these 2 simple main ingredients, freshly grated ginger and garlic. For that finger licking goodness, try this deep fried chicken wings marinated for at least 2 hrs or overnight in the fridge for that rich ginger and garlicky flavour.

Ginger Garlic Chicken Wings

Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp potato starch
- 6 Tbsp plain flour
- ¾ Tbsp white pepper
- 1 tsp chicken powder
- 250 ml water
- 12 chicken wings
- 3 tsp light soya sauce
- 3 tsp chinese rice wine
- ½ tsp sesame oil
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 1 Tbsp of freshly grated ginger
Instructions

Add 4 Tbsp potato starch, 6 Tbsp plain flour, ¾ Tbsp white pepper and 1 tsp chicken powder into a bowl and mix well

Pour in 250 ml water and stir with a whisk until all the flour dissolves

Wash 12 chicken wings and put in a bowl

Add 3 tsp light soya sauce, 3 tsp chinese rice wine and ½ tsp sesame oil

Press or chop 4 cloves of garlic and 1 Tbsp of freshly grated ginger onto the chicken wings

Mix all the ingredients well and ensure that the chicken wings are thoroughly coated

Pour in the flour mixture and mix well

Set aside in the fridge for at least 2 hrs or overnight

Take out from the fridge and mix the marinated wings well

Ensure the oil is very hot before frying

Carefully lower marinated chicken wing into the hot oil

Fry for about 2 minutes on each side until light brown

Remove the fried wings and set aside before the final fry

Just before serving, fry the wings for 1 to 2 mins in hot oil for a 2nd time

Serve the chicken wings hot
