Quick Bacon Aglio e Olio Pasta (15-Min Linguine Recipe)

Try my savory upgrade with crispy bacon and linguine – ready in 15 minutes!
- 2 litres water
- 1 Tbsp salt
- 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 150 g linguine pasta
- 2 – 4 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 200 g back bacon
- 3 – 4 cloves garlic, sliced thinly
- 1 tsp chilli powder (optional)
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 tsp chopped cilantro
- Start preparing by slicing garlic thinly, chop cilantro and cut bacon strips into bite size pieces.
- Pour olive oil and add salt to a pot of water and bring it to a rolling boil.
- Add the linguine pasta and boil for 8 mins.
- Remove linguine from the pot and drain it in a colander.
- Keep the pasta water for later use.
- Heat up a frying pan and add olive oil.
- Add cut bacon pieces and stir fry until crispy and remove from pan.
- Add olive oil to the frying pan.
Add sliced garlic, chilli powder, pepper and salt to the pan.
Add the cooked linguine pasta, 2 – 3 ladle scoops of pasta water and crispy bacon, toss it well.
- Finally add chopped cilantro and mix everything together.
Tips & Variations
Use spaghetti if no linguine.
Add prawns for seafood twist.
Store leftovers in fridge up to 2 days; reheat with water.
