Soft and Fluffy Bread Buns with Red Bean Paste
Ingredients
- 550 ml warm water at 45 degrees Celcius
- 20 g instant yeast
- 50 g sugar
- 10 g salt
- 1/4 cup oil
- 900 g bread flour
- 660 g red bean paste
- 1 egg for egg wash
- sesame seeds
Instructions
- Prepare warm water at 45 C in a bowl
- Add instant yeast and sugar to the warm water and stir gently
- Cover the bowl and set aside until yeast mixture turns foamy which shows that the yeast is active
- Add salt and oil and mix well
- Add bread flour a batch at a time and mix well
- Knead until it forms into a dough
- Cover and let it rise until double in size
- Punch the dough to release the air
- Transfer the dough on a rolling board and cut to size of 42 g each
- Scoop out the red bean paste and weigh 22 g each
- Flatten dough with a rolling pin and place red bean paste in the centre
- Fold the sides up and pinch the dough to seal the red bean paste
- Gently roll into a ball with your hands and arrange on a baking tray
- Set aside the tray in a warm place for at least 45 mins for the shaped dough to rise
- After the dough have double in size, brush with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds on top
- Bake at 180 C for 20 mins or until golden brown
